Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2025  ·  Effective: April 2025

Plain English summary: You pay £34.99/month and we build and manage your website. You can cancel anytime. Your domain name is always yours. We’re registered in Romania and operate under EU law — but we’re here to serve you and these terms are written to be fair and straightforward.

1. Who we are

GetOnWeb is a website design and management service operated by a company registered in Romania, European Union. Our website is getonweb.co.uk.

In these Terms, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to GetOnWeb. “You” refers to anyone who signs up for, or uses, our service. “Service” refers to everything we provide under the monthly subscription described below.

By signing up and paying your first month, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them before proceeding. If you have questions, email us at hello@getonweb.co.uk before signing up.

2. The service

For £34.99 per month, we provide the following as a single, all-inclusive subscription:

  • A custom-designed website of 6–8 pages, built and launched for you
  • All written content for your site, produced from your onboarding brief
  • A domain name registered on your behalf (see section 7)
  • Website hosting on fast, reliable servers
  • SSL certificate (HTTPS) and basic security maintenance
  • A contact form and Google Maps embed (where applicable)
  • Mobile-responsive design that works on all devices
  • 1 hour of change requests per calendar month (see section 8)

We do not offer SEO campaigns, paid advertising management, e-commerce functionality, or custom web application development under the standard subscription. Additional services may be discussed separately.

3. Getting started

After your first payment is received, we will send you an onboarding form. You agree to complete this form accurately and in reasonable time. Delays in returning the completed form may delay your launch date.

We aim to have your website live within 10–14 days of receiving your completed onboarding brief. This is a target, not a guarantee — timelines may be affected by factors outside our control, including delays in receiving materials from you.

Before going live, we will share a preview link for your review. You will have the opportunity to request reasonable revisions at this stage. Once you approve the site (or after a reasonable review period has elapsed without response), we will publish it to your domain.

4. Your responsibilities

To allow us to deliver the service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your business in the onboarding form
  • Respond to requests for clarification or approval within a reasonable timeframe
  • Ensure that any content, images, or materials you provide to us are owned by you or that you have the right to use them
  • Not use our service to promote anything illegal, harmful, discriminatory, or misleading
  • Keep your billing details up to date to avoid service interruption

We reserve the right to refuse to publish, or to remove, any content that we reasonably believe to be unlawful, offensive, or in breach of third-party rights.

5. Payment & billing

The subscription fee is £34.99 per month, billed in advance. Your first payment initiates the service. Subsequent payments are charged automatically on the same date each month using the payment method you provide.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. All prices are in GBP. VAT may apply depending on your location and circumstances — this will be shown at checkout.

If a payment fails, we will notify you and allow a short grace period to update your payment details. If payment remains outstanding after this period, we reserve the right to suspend your website until payment is received.

We do not offer refunds for partial months. If you cancel mid-month, your service and website will remain active until the end of the paid billing period.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time by emailing us at hello@getonweb.co.uk. There is no minimum contract, no notice period, and no cancellation fee.

Upon cancellation:

  • Your website will remain live until the end of your current billing period
  • After that, your site will be taken offline and the hosting will end
  • Your domain name can be transferred to you for a one-off fee of £20 (see section 7)
  • We will retain your data in line with our Privacy Policy

We may also cancel the service if you breach these Terms. In that case, we will give you reasonable notice except where immediate termination is required (for example, for legal reasons).

7. Your domain name

As part of the service, we register a domain name on your behalf. The domain is registered in our name as part of the managed service, but we treat it as belonging to you throughout the subscription.

If you cancel or leave the service, you have the right to transfer the domain to your own registrar account. We will facilitate this transfer for a one-off administration fee of £20. Once transferred, the domain is entirely yours and we have no further claim to it.

If you choose not to transfer the domain, it will expire at its next renewal date and will not be renewed by us after the subscription ends.

If you already own a domain you wish to use, we can point your existing domain to our hosting instead. In this case, no domain registration fee applies and the domain remains entirely under your control.

8. Change requests

Your subscription includes 1 hour of change requests per calendar month. This resets on the 1st of each month and does not roll over.

A change request covers any update that takes us under one hour in total — for example, updating text, swapping an image, changing opening hours, or adding a new service to an existing page.

Changes that require more than 1 hour, or that involve significant structural redesign, are outside the included allowance. In these cases, we will always notify you of the estimated time and agree a rate before doing any additional work. There are no surprise charges.

Change requests should be submitted by email to changes@getonweb.co.uk. We aim to complete standard requests within 3–5 business days.

9. Intellectual property

Content you provide

You retain full ownership of any content, images, logos, or materials you supply to us. By providing them, you grant us a licence to use them solely for the purpose of building and maintaining your website.

Content we create

We retain ownership of the underlying design templates, code structure, and any proprietary frameworks used to build your site. However, once your subscription is active, you have a full licence to use the website as delivered. The written content we produce for your site is yours to use freely.

On cancellation

If you cancel, your licence to use the hosted website ends when the service period concludes. You may request an export of the written content we produced for you at no charge. We do not provide exports of the underlying theme or design files.

10. Liability

We will always do our best to deliver a reliable, high-quality service. However, to the extent permitted by law, we limit our liability as follows:

  • We are not liable for any loss of business, revenue, or profit arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service
  • We are not liable for any downtime caused by third-party hosting providers, domain registrars, or factors outside our control
  • Our total liability to you in any month shall not exceed the subscription fee paid in that month

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

We make reasonable efforts to keep your website secure and available, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. We recommend that you keep copies of any critical business information independently.

11. Suspension & termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your service without refund if:

  • You use the service to publish unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent content
  • You breach any material provision of these Terms and fail to remedy the breach within 7 days of notice
  • Payment remains outstanding for more than 14 days after the due date

Where possible, we will contact you before taking action and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania and the European Union. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Romanian courts, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.

If you are a UK consumer, you may also have rights under UK consumer law that cannot be excluded by contract. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit those rights.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify active clients by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

The current version of these Terms is always available at getonweb.co.uk/terms.html.
