Home/Websites for holiday cottages
Holiday cottage websites that take direct bookings.
Every booking that comes through a platform costs you commission. A beautiful website of your own lets guests check availability and book direct, and keeps the guest relationship with you. Designed, written and run for £39.99 a month.

“Your guests already love your cottage. The question is whether they book it through you - or through someone taking a cut.”
Direct bookings vs platforms
Keep the platforms. Stop depending on them.
Booking sites are great for being discovered. Your own website is where repeat guests and Google visitors book on your terms.
| Your own website | Airbnb / Booking.com | Holiday cottage agencies | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost per booking | None - flat £39.99/month | Commission or service fees, often around 15% | Commission, often higher |
| Guest contact details | Yours - invite them back | Limited, via the platform | Held by the agency |
| Your rules & policies | Fully yours | Platform policies apply | Agency terms apply |
| Brand & story | Your name, your style | Standard listing | Agency branding |
| Repeat guests | Book direct with you | Often re-book on the platform | Re-book with the agency |
Commission rates vary by platform, plan and agency. Many owners keep their listings for discovery and use their website to win repeat and direct guests.
Guests fall for the place. Make sure they can find your own website.
Why holiday lets need a website
Your best guests are the ones who come back.
Ask most holiday let owners and they’ll tell you the same thing: their happiest, easiest guests are the returning ones. Yet many of those guests re-book through the same platform - and the commission comes out every time.
Make direct booking easy
A professional website with your availability, prices and a simple way to book gives returning guests a reason to come straight to you. Put the link in your welcome book, your thank-you emails and your guest WiFi page.
Be found by name
Guests who discover you on a platform often search for your property name to find out more. If you have your own website, that’s where they land - with your direct-booking offer waiting.
Show what listings can’t
Platform listings are short and standardised. Your website can tell the story of the place, include a proper local guide, highlight dog-friendly walks, the pub down the lane and the best beach at low tide - the things that make guests book.

FAQ
Questions holiday let owners ask us.
Why have my own website if I'm on Airbnb and Booking.com?
Booking platforms are great for being found, but they take a commission on every booking, control the guest relationship and can change their rules at any time. Your own website lets returning guests and people who find you on Google book directly - so you keep the full rate, own the guest relationship and rely less on the platforms.
Can guests check availability and book on my website?
Yes. If you use a booking or channel manager (such as Lodgify, Freetobook, Supercontrol, Bookalet or similar), we embed its availability calendar and booking widget so guests can book and pay directly. If you don't, we add an availability enquiry form.
Will my website get bookings straight away?
Direct bookings build over time. They usually start with returning guests and people who found you on a platform and then searched your property name. We make sure your site is easy to find for your property name and location, and give you a direct booking link to share with past guests.
Can I offer a discount for booking direct?
Yes, and many owners do. Even a small direct-booking discount is often still cheaper for you than paying platform commission. We'll highlight it on every page.
How much does a holiday cottage website cost?
Agency-built holiday let websites often cost £1,500-£4,000. GetOnWeb is £39.99 a month with no setup fee, including design, copywriting, domain, hosting, security and an hour of changes every month. A single direct booking can save more than that in commission.
I have several properties. Can they all go on one site?
Yes. Each property gets its own page with photos, sleeping arrangements, features and its own availability, plus a page comparing them so guests can choose.
